About the Role

This role highlights the engineer who builds the platform from first commit to full deployment. You’ll own features end-to-end — from database schema to API design to the interface creative professionals interact with daily. You’re not just writing code; you’re building the tools that power the next generation of storytelling.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build full-stack features across our Astro/Preact frontend and Node.js/Python backend
  • Own features from concept through deployment — architecture, implementation, testing, monitoring
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and real-time data pipelines that serve our AI models
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and ML teams to translate creative workflows into software
  • Write comprehensive tests and maintain high code quality standards
  • Participate in architecture decisions and code reviews
  • Contribute to our design system and component library
  • Optimize performance for creative professionals working with large media assets

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks (React/Preact, Astro, or similar)
  • Experience with Python and familiarity with ML/AI integration patterns
  • Solid understanding of database design (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB) and API architecture
  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront)
  • Comfort with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
  • Strong product sense — you think about user experience, not just technical implementation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience building tools for creative professionals (video, audio, design)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model serving and integration
  • Experience with real-time collaboration features
  • Background in media/entertainment technology
